Questions from cleaners who applied last month.
Q·01Do I need experience to apply?
No — most of our entry-level cleaning roles require no prior experience. We provide full Cert III training through TrainingUP before you start your first site. If you can show up on time, take care, and work with a team, we want to hear from you.
Q·02I'm new to Australia. Can I apply?
Yes. We employ workers from many countries — Brazil, India, the Philippines, Vietnam, Nepal, Colombia, and across Latin America, South Asia, and South-East Asia among others. You'll need work rights in Australia (citizen, permanent resident, or a visa that permits work). Bring your visa documentation to your interview.
Q·03What documents do I need to apply?
Photo ID (passport or driver's licence), proof of work rights in Australia (visa or citizenship), Tax File Number (TFN), bank account details, and Superannuation account (we'll help you set one up if you don't have one yet).
Q·04Is English required?
Basic conversational English helps for safety briefings and team communication. Our supervisors speak multiple languages — Portuguese, Spanish, Hindi, Vietnamese, Mandarin among them. We adapt training to your level. You'll get better at English working with us.
Q·05What hours are available?
We have day shifts, after-hours (5 PM–10 PM), early morning (5 AM–8 AM), weekend, and casual/on-call. Tell us your availability — many people start part-time and grow into full-time.
Q·06How much will I be paid?
Award-rate pay (Cleaning Services Award) plus penalty rates for after-hours, weekend, and public holidays. We pay properly — superannuation, annual leave, workers' compensation, all per Australian law. Exact rates discussed in your interview based on role and shifts.
Q·07Is the training paid?
Yes — Cert III training time is paid. TrainingUP is structured to combine classroom-style sessions and on-the-job training with a supervisor before you're independent on site.
Q·08How long until I'm working on my first site?
Typically 1–2 weeks from interview to first shift. We move quickly for the right people. Background check + WWC check (where required) + Cert III induction module + first on-site shift with a supervisor.
Q·09Do you check Working with Children / Vulnerable People?
Yes for cleaners assigned to schools, childcare, aged care, or hospitals. We help you apply for the right check (Blue Card in QLD, WWCC in NSW/VIC, etc.). Currency tracked centrally.
Q·10Can I move up from cleaner to supervisor?
Yes — many of our supervisors and area managers started as cleaners. We promote internally. Cert IV in Training and Assessment is available for supervisors. Tell us your career goals at interview.
