Specialist work · five disciplines

Hydro, plant rooms, working at heights.

The work that separates industrial from commercial. Specialist chemistry, specialist equipment, specialist certifications — layered on the same contract.

  1. Discipline 01

    Hydro cleaning

Hot-water high-pressure when standard scrubbing won't shift the soil. Hard-stands, food-production grease, façades, equipment exteriors. Pressure, temperature, and chemistry specified per job.

  2. Discipline 02

    Plant-room cleaning

Boiler rooms, switchboards, mechanical plant. Ducts, vent grilles, equipment surfaces, control rooms — alongside electrical and mechanical contractors during planned shutdowns.

  3. Discipline 03

    Working at heights

Mezzanines, racking systems, gantries, walkways, atrium glass. Current Working at Heights certification, fall-arrest equipped, site-specific JSA before each job.

  4. Discipline 04

    Floor specialist work

Strip and seal on vinyl + lino. Polished concrete burnishing. Tile and grout deep cleans. Anti-slip treatments — critical for food-grade and food-service sites.

  5. Discipline 05

    Confined-space awareness

Supervisors trained to recognise confined-space situations and refer the work appropriately. We don't enter without certifications and rescue plan — that's a specialist scope.

Why facility managers choose QCC for industrial

Six reasons production-line buyers stay.

  1. Reason · 01

    ISO 45001 H&S certified

Real cert, current audit, available on request. Most providers say 'ISO certified' without specifying the standard or the year.

    Compliance stack
  2. Reason · 02

    Hydro cleaning capability in-house

Hot-water high-pressure work is part of the standard tooling — not a sub-contracted add-on. Pressure, temperature, and chemistry specified per job.

  3. Reason · 03

    Working-at-Heights certified crews

Every industrial-assigned cleaner holds current certification. Fall-arrest equipped. SWMS authored per job, signed by the supervisor.

  4. Reason · 04

    JSA / SWMS export

WHS documents handed to your procurement and WHS teams as part of onboarding. Most providers keep these internal. We don't.

    Rapid Response

Industrial cleaning · before signing

Twelve questions procurement teams ask first.

  • 01

    What does industrial cleaning include?

Floor scrubbing (ride-on or walk-behind), industrial vacuuming, high-pressure or hydro washdown, mezzanine and high-access cleaning, bin and loading-dock cleaning, and amenity cleaning within the industrial site. Specialist scopes include plant-room cleaning, food-grade cleaning to AS 4674, post-shift production-area turnaround, and post-incident recovery. Mapped to your site during onboarding.

  • 02

How is industrial cleaning different from commercial cleaning?

Three differences. Soil profile (factory floors carry product residue and oil, not just foot-traffic dust). Safety frame (documented WHS regime, Working at Heights, JSAs, SWMS, ISO 45001). Time window (most industrial work runs between shifts in a fixed window). The equipment, chemistry, and crew training are all different — QCC runs industrial as a separate operational division.

  • 03

    Are industrial cleaners working-at-heights certified?

Every QCC cleaner assigned to an industrial site that involves mezzanines, racking, gantries, or any work above ground level holds current Working at Heights certification. Fall-arrest equipped. SWMS authored per job.

  • 04

What equipment is used in industrial cleaning?

Ride-on auto scrubbers for large floors (above ~5,000 m²), walk-behind scrubbers for smaller plates, industrial sweepers for dusty environments, HEPA-filter vacuums for food-grade and pharma, hot-water high-pressure (hydro) units for stubborn soils, scissor/boom lifts for working at heights. All QCC-owned, QCC-maintained, current Test and Tag.

  • 05

Can you clean food-grade industrial sites?

Yes. Food-production sites operate under AS 4674 (Design, construction and fit-out of food premises) and HACCP-aligned cleaning regimes. QCC runs food-grade-rated chemistry, colour-coded equipment to prevent cross-contamination, dedicated cleaner training, and food-grade SDS-current chemicals.

  • 06

Do you do after-shift / overnight production-area cleaning?

Yes. The majority of QCC's industrial work runs between shifts in a defined window (typically 4–8 hours overnight). Crews are dispatched, scrub the floor, run the hydro work, sanitise the high-touch areas, and the site is ready for the next shift to start on time. Geofenced sign-in proves attendance inside the window.

  • 07

Is hydro cleaning safe for delicate equipment?

It depends on the surface and the specification. Hot-water high-pressure on hard floors and external surfaces is standard and safe when correctly specified (pressure, temperature, distance). Equipment exteriors and sensitive surfaces require lower pressure, lower temperature, and sometimes substitution to wipe-down. QCC specifies the regime per job.

  • 08

What insurance do industrial cleaners need?

QCC carries public liability insurance, workers' compensation, professional indemnity, and property damage cover specific to industrial cleaning. Certificate of Currency available on request — many industrial procurement teams require it as part of contractor prequalification.

  • 09

Do you provide WHS documentation (JSAs, SWMS) to the client?

Yes — this is part of the standard onboarding pack. Site-specific JSA and SWMS are authored before first attendance, signed by the supervisor, and copied to your procurement and WHS teams. Most industrial cleaning providers keep these documents internal. QCC exports them by default.

  • 10

    Are you Cm3 prequalified?

Yes. QCC is current in the Cm3 contractor prequalification platform. Your procurement team can verify our profile in the Cm3 portal directly.

  • 11

Do you handle clean-out work between production runs?

Yes — typically as a defined scope alongside the regular contract. Between-run cleans are usually shorter than between-shift cleans and focused on equipment exteriors, floor in the immediate work area, and cross-contamination controls. Common in food production, paint, plastics, and chemical light-manufacturing settings.

  • 12

What does industrial cleaning cost in Australia?

Industrial cleaning is line-item priced — labour + equipment + chemistry + WHS overhead + travel. A mid-size factory (10,000 m², light-medium soil, between-shift, 5 days a week) typically sits in a defined per-visit range that depends on scope and frequency. Food-grade and very large sites carry their own ranges. We provide a transparent line-by-line quote in 24 hours.
